Child Safety

At St Agatha’s Catholic Primary School, we believe that ensuring the safety of the students in our care is an integral part of who we are as a Catholic faith community. We adhere to Victorian Child Safe Standards and Ministerial Order No. 1359.

At St Agatha’s Primary School, we hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of our school. Our commitment is drawn from, and inherent to, the teaching and mission of Jesus Christ, with love, justice and the sanctity of each human person at the heart of the gospel.

We are committed to ensuring that all those engaged in Catholic education at St Agatha’s Primary School promotes the inherent dignity of children and young people and their fundamental right is respected and nurtured in a safe school environment. This is particularly so for the most vulnerable children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with a disability.

We promote positive relationships between students and adults, including school staff, contractors, volunteers, parents, guardians and carers and between students and their peers. These relationships are based on trust and respect.

St Agatha’s Primary School works with the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited (DOSCEL) to implement procedures guided by DOSCEL policies.
