‘No school can work well for children if parents and teachers do not act in partnership on behalf of the children’s best interests,’ - Cohen
Parents are encouraged to be as involved in the school as much as they want to be.
Options for involvement include but are not limited to the following:
All volunteer parent helpers must have a current ‘Working With Children Check’ card and have St Agatha’s Primary School as the nominated provider. All volunteers will complete an induction session prior to volunteering each year.
The St Agatha’s Community Group (STAC), formerly our Parents and Friends Association, has been set up to help all parents and carers feel welcome in our school.
There are four branches to STAC:
Parent Lounge
We have a dedicated room next to the Canteen. This is used for parent meetings and resource working bees. However, it’s most important function is as a gathering space that all parents can access. Tea and coffee is available. There are some toys to keep the toddlers occupied. All parents are encouraged to take advantage of this designated space.
